Down Under Nationals

The Down Under Nationals Championship Live Show is where the cream of the Australian and New Zealand model horse crop come to compete.

Entry to DUN is limited to qualifiers - a model has to place first or second in its class at a qualifying live show before it is allowed to enter. That means only the best of the best will be present, competing for the title of National Grand Champion! Each class is a championship in its own right.

The show is double-judged, meaning each division has two judges. The scores from each judge are added together, and placings are decided by computer based on points earned from the placings. This ensures a non-bias system. It`s very similar to the one used by NAMHSA, the association behind the North American Nationals.

The show is held bi-annually in different locations around Australia. The very first championship was held in 2011 in Sydney with a huge 28 entrants.

In order for DUN to be a success, it needs to have qualifying live shows held in the lead-up to each Championship. None happening in your area? Why not run your own? This page will help you on your way to holding your own live show! When it`s booked, get it qualified here!
